June is the month for graduations! It can be a very hectic time of year with lots of parties, relatives and friends in our house.
As you know I had two of my children graduate from college this month. I had planned on having their announcements all ready to be mailed, well, that didn’t quite happen. I got busy and didn’t get it done.
I did this week get one done for my daughter and hoping to get the rest done and mailed by this weekend. Then to start on my sons. I also have some baby shower invites to get made and a wedding card to go out. So I am pretty busy….oh wait, and 4th of July cards are to get done for the family get together at our bbq.
The card I have featured for this post, in my daughters announcement.
the mortarboard hat is from Stamps of Life
2016 is from Michaels Craft Store
Painter’s Palette stamp set, Pink Pirouette Ink Pad, Layering Squares Framelits, Foam Adhesive Strips, So Saffron Card Stock, Designer Series paper & Whisper White are from Stampin’ Up.

Summer is definitely here now! Wow, we had some pretty hot weather this week. It has finally cooled down to below the triple digits!
I have watching some Youtube videos the past few days, The Fundamental Home and I love how she grocery shops. She spends $100 a month, yep, that’s what I said, on groceries! I am intrigued on how she does this. I have a small stock pile in my cabinet, I buy a few extra canned goods when they are on sale, so I don’t have to run to the store for something when I am right in the middle of cooking! She has a family of 5 and runs a blog also with her youtube channel. I currently have all my adult children living at home, 1 is temporary, while he looks for a job. So my family of 6 can go through quite a lot of food.
So, I figure if I want to continue to do my crafting and buy my supplies, the food budget has to get tighter!
I know it won’t happen overnight and the next few shopping trips will have to get my stock piles a little bigger. My main thing is to plan meals. I am awful at this and I have challenged myself to do better.
At the top of my page I have added a card found on Pinterest . I thought the colors were beautiful and went with this post quite nicely! Off to look as some recipes, then on to the craft room. I have a special card to make!
Have a great weekend!
To all the dads out there and the single mom’s who do both rolls wonderfully! This is your day! My father passed 16 years ago, but I still think of him and miss him. He wasn’t in my life for a long time, but we reconnected later in life and he got be with his grandchildren.
The card I am featuring today is the card I currently have in my Etsy Shop, DonnasCardDesigns.etsy.com
I also made this one for my husband, who has the been the greatest dad. He travels a lot for his job, but he was always at every great event of our children, this they will always remember. He was always able to help with homework, even when he wasn’t home, called every night to talk to all of us. Anytime, day or night, he was there for the kids and for me.
Happy Father’s Day Mike, We Love You!
Yep, that’s what I have been doing this month! Flew to Florida for my son’s graduation. The following week, my youngest daughter had her graduation from Jr. College. Lots of celebration at my house!
All my children have moved back home, I have 4 (yes, I said FOUR) adult children living in my house, while they are looking for jobs. Two of them have never left and are currently employed, the oldest two are looking. My house is pretty packed at the moment!
My crafting in my studio, well, I haven’t had time to do a whole lot, but I have been scoping out what all my crafty friends have been making.
I am going to try to work on Father’s Day cards today and get them in the mail.
The picture at the top of my blog today is a photo that my daughter took for her photo class! She made it to the class wall for graduation! Top honors for her! So proud.
Well, I will end here for now, hope to get more pictures up on the blog in a few days. Stay tuned!
Wow! I can’t believe it is summer already and I haven’t posted since March! So sorry my friends, time just gets away from me and I forget!
June here in California is pretty gloomy, overcast and just not the greatest weather. But fear not, the heat is coming soon and then it will be sunny, hot and sweaty weather!
I have been attending graduations that couple of weeks. I flew to Florida to see my son graduate with his Masters in Game Design! So proud of him! The weather in Florida is Awful…..so humid and hot, not a fun time at all. We took him to the Magic Kingdom for the day! He enjoyed is last tour of the Disney World parks. He is now currently driving home to spend a few weeks with us, while looking for job.
Today is my youngest daughters graduation. She is getting her AA in Photography! She is excited to be done with school for awhile.
All my children are home for awhile, most are working, 2 are looking. Full house for awhile. Hoping to get in my craft studio for a bit today.
